Jeremy catches up with local artist, Matt Falle

Date: 14 May 2018

Jeremy: Which parish to you live in?

Matt: Grouville.

Jeremy: What do you like most about your Parish?

Matt: It's a country parish sandwiched between town and Gorey.

Jeremy: What or where is your favourite spot in Jersey and why?

Matt: I love St. Catherines woods, it's very natural and peaceful.

Jeremy: Describe your dream home in Jersey.

Matt: A place with good light, fields and trees.

Jeremy: Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.

Matt: I'm a Jersey born artist, who loves Jersey and nature. I'm married with a 3-year-old daughter and living in a lovely part of Grouville. My work is inspired by people, nature and pastimes with a somewhat graphic style. Having grown up in Jersey in the 70's & 80's, when it was a popular holiday destination, my paintings have a sunshine, touristy theme - this is the 'Pop' element of my work. But with my interest in nature and travels, I also paint scenes of nature and animals. In all my work, colour and style play an important part. Spending time outdoors is good leisure time for me.

Jeremy: What is your favourite local ingredient to cook with?

Matt: Ormers.
